More Than 40 Years of Dental Experience
Dr. Charles J. Pybus has been practicing dentistry since 1983, bringing more than four decades of clinical experience to patients in Amarillo and the surrounding communities. His approach is centered on giving patients the information and treatment options they need to make confident decisions about their oral health.
Dr. Pybus provides a broad range of dental services, including preventive, restorative, cosmetic, implant, periodontal, endodontic, prosthodontic, orthodontic, and oral surgery care, as well as sedation dentistry. This extensive clinical background allows many patients to receive comprehensive treatment in one familiar practice.
Advanced Education and Continuing Training
Dr. Pybus earned his undergraduate education in chemistry and biology before graduating from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio School of Dentistry in 1983.
Continuing education has been an important part of his career. Since dental school, he has completed more than 2,000 hours of continuing dental education, with extensive training in restorative and cosmetic dentistry, dental implants, orthodontics and clear aligners, endodontics, oral surgery, dentures and prosthodontics, periodontal therapy, full-mouth rehabilitation, and sedation dentistry.
His advanced training includes multi-day, multi-month, and multi-year programs in several areas of dentistry. He continues to pursue additional education regularly to expand and refine his clinical skills.
Dr. Pybus is a member of the American Dental Association, Texas Dental Association, and Academy of General Dentistry. Through the Academy of General Dentistry, he has earned both Fellowship and Mastership and has received a Lifetime Achievement Award.
Comprehensive Dental Care in Amarillo
Throughout his career, Dr. Pybus has treated a wide variety of dental needs, including crowns, bridges, dental bonding, tooth extractions, wisdom teeth removal, root canal therapy, dentures and partial dentures, veneers, professional teeth whitening, TMJ-related treatments such as night guards and occlusal appliances, and clear aligner orthodontics, including Invisalign cases.
His experience also includes cosmetic and full-mouth restorative dentistry, periodontal maintenance and non-surgical periodontal therapy, dental implants, oral surgery, and other complex dental treatments.
Extensive Dental Implant Experience
Dental implants have been an important part of Dr. Pybus's practice for decades. At Pybus Dental, implant treatment can be coordinated from implant placement through healing and final restoration, providing continuity of care within one practice.
This approach can be particularly helpful for patients receiving single-tooth dental implants, implant-supported bridges, or implant-supported “snap-in” dentures. Dr. Pybus has extensive experience restoring smiles with implant-supported dentures and coordinating the various stages of treatment.

Every patient has different dental needs, goals, and concerns. Dr. Pybus takes time to evaluate each patient's oral health and discuss appropriate treatment options so they can make informed decisions about their care.

Life Outside the Dental Office
Outside of dentistry, Dr. Pybus enjoys history, firearms, pinball machines, and Dallas Cowboys football. He and his wife, Shannon, have three children.
